Year 13 students at St Wilfrid’s RC College, part of the Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust, are celebrating the outstanding success in achieving Level 3 Qualification in Sports Leadership - a nationally recognised award that reflects excellence in teamwork, communication and leadership.
The Sports Leadership Level 3 qualification enables successful learners to plan, deliver and evaluate purposeful, inclusive and enjoyable sport or physical activity sessions. It aligns with professional standards for sport and physical activity leadership, giving students valuable skills for future careers in sport, education or employment
The Leadership Foundation praised St Wilfrid’s for its exceptional delivery of the course, commenting that “the PE Department had gone above and beyond for their students.” As a result, the school received a Certificate of Best Practice for its quality assurance, a reflection of the staff’s dedication and the students’ commitment to excellence.
Kate Forster, Head of Sixth Form, said, “We are incredibly proud of the students taking part in the Sports Leaders Level 3 programme. Their commitment, teamwork, and leadership have had a real impact not only within our school but also in the wider community. This programme empowers our students with skills that will stay with them for life, and it’s inspiring to see them grow into such confident and capable young leaders.”
The achievement reflects St Wilfrid’s RC College’s strong focus on personal development, leadership and service - values at the heart of the school. Through opportunities like the Sports Leadership programme, students at St Wilfrid’s are encouraged to aim high, develop practical skills and become role models within their community - preparing them for bright futures in higher education, sport and beyond.
