Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Ensuring the professional development of all our staff is important to us and we offer a wide range of in-house CPD sessions for support staff, teachers and governors. Topics include GDPR, Safeguarding, People Management, and Health & Safety - enabling colleagues to be the best version of themselves. We’re also committed to succession planning and the ongoing development of all our people.
For teacher development we offer a SCITT scheme for degree-holders to train to teach in one year — see our SCITT page to find out more.
We also offer:
- ECTE Programme – Early Career Teachers (first two years). All training delivered by BCCET staff using Teach First resources to complement our Teacher Development programmes.
- NPQs – National Professional Qualifications for current and aspiring leaders (DfE-accredited). Designed by Teach First; delivered by our own highly qualified facilitators.
Training takes place at Evolve Business Centre, Houghton-le-Spring. ECTE and NPQ programmes are open beyond BCCET schools. Please contact Suzanne Robinson – Director of Teacher Development if you’d like BCCET to provide your training.
